More pictures from Belize! I visited Lamanai and it was awesome. By the way, the tour company that I used was Seaduced by Belize. Fantastic guides! I highly recommend them if you ever go to Belize. Also Caye Casa is wonderful. Right on the beach. In fact, the stretch of beach right in front of the resort is owned by Caye Casa. San Pedro is the biggest town on the island of Ambergris Cay. I rented a golf cart to ride around town. Walking in that heat got to me! So go, because you deserve the best experiences in life.
I went to see the world famous Chicken Drop at Wahoo's Lounge.
Yes, I went full beach! Posing on my private balcony. Ah, the life :)
I started taking selfies. Yes, I'm late to the party on that one. Now I reflect that I had to get over thinking I'm not so special. It's not always about vanity though. I now realize that taking selfies memorializes my happy moments. So I have some selfies from Belize sprinkled into my photos. I giggle every time I look at them.
I'm back to writing my next book Into The Mist, working on giving readers the best possible story I can. That includes not just working myself to exhaustion writing the book, but self-care. Like to Belize. So actually I hung out on the Caribbean beach, swam in the Caribbean Sea, ate fab food and such for y'all. Taking care of me means I write better. Which equals giving my best to readers of my fiction. You're welcome!
Story from the tour of Lamanai: the Mayans had a game for the strongest, most handsome young men in the empire. It sounds a lot like a combination soccer and basketball. The aim was to get a rubber ball through a hoop set way up high. The man who won this difficult game was sacrificed to their god. Huh? We all wondered at first why wouldn't the loser get his head chopped off. Well, Mayan priest would only give their best to the gods. Makes sense when you think about it. Awful, but logical.
I give my best when I write. No chopping of body parts required!
