The rain started Wednesday. Just a little. By Thursday it poured down for hours. Friday we knew this would be historic. By Saturday it was epic. The Greater Baton Rouge Area (GBR) saw what is so far the 3rd highest rain totals for the month of August ever. And the month isn't over yet. Lots of tears added to the rainwater, because in some parishes upwards of 90% of the homes and businesses are a total loss. If you would like to help you can get a great list HERE to donate or volunteer. Thank you!
First Responders stepped up as usual, but so did ordinary citizens. In their own or even borrowed boats and high water vehicles. People really turned into the "Hero Next Door".
