Louisiana mourns the loss of a cultural icon, a legendary zydeco musician that made the sounds of Creole Louisiana heard across the globe. Buckwheat Zydeco died today, but the music will never leave us. He personifies the culture and spirit of South Louisiana culture. A frequent question at clubs and parties used to be "Do you zydeco?" That meant a fun and lively line dance done to R&B, soul and zydeco music. Gone, but his songs mean he'll never be forgotten.
