Désirée Zamorano’s short story was listed as a distinguished story in Best American Mystery and Suspense.

"If Found Please Return to Abigail Serna 158 3/4 E MLK Blvd" is included in the new Akashic anthology South Central Noir edited by Gary Phillips. Zamorano's story tells a bleak account of life during the pandemic for a struggling family.

Désirée Zamorano is the author of the highly acclaimed literary novel The Amado Women (Cinco Puntos Press). Her work often explores issues of invisibility, inequity, or injustice. Her writing has appeared in Catapult, Cultural Weekly, and The Kenyon Review. She is a frequent contributor to the Los Angeles Review of Books. Most recently 2022's Best Of American Mystery and Suspense listed her tale "Caperucita Roja" as one of the year's distinguished short stories.
